  13. purpose of reverse engineering the software.

  23. To use this application you require a valid license and a functioning 
  24. installation of Microsoft's DAO (Data Access Objects). This is the case
  25. if you have completely installed Microsoft Office Professional for Windows 95, 
  26. Microsoft Access for Windows 95, Visual Basic Professional 4.0, or Visual C++ 
  27. 4.0.

  32. II.  What is CD-CAT application?
  33.  
  34. CD_CAT is an application for keeping information about CD library,
  35. fast searching required files and comparing contain of a CD with CDs in
  36. library. Graphic and Windows Explorer like interface makes this
  37. processes very easy.The freeware version is intended to demonstrate
  38. functionality of KSF's components TDBTreeView, TDBListView, and TDBImageList.

  40. Commercial version of this application is also available at KSF

  42. III. Troubleshooting.
  43. After you have installed and started CD_CAT you may get message 
  44. "Cannot load an IDAPI service library." It means that DAO 3.0 is
  45. not properly installed on your system or not installed at all.
  46. If you have not installed DAO 3.0 on your computer, you may download 
  47. it from ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/SoftLib/MSLFiles/DAOREDIS.EXE.
  48. If DAO 3.0 is installed on your computer and you are still getting the
  49. message, then, probably, you registry database misses a record
  50. Borland BDE is looking for. Fixreg.exe from the installation set of
  51. CD_CAT can fix this problem. Just start the Fixreg.exe and if it finds
  52. DAO on your computer, it will create a proper record in the registry
  53. database.

  55. IV. What is in commercial version?
  56.  
  57. Commercial version of the CD-CAT application allows:
  58. 1. Add to the database list of files, stored in archives on a CD.
  59. 2. Open several Find and Match windows.
  60. 3. Find dialog allows to specify patterns to search in the description field.
  61. 4. Locate a file, found by the Find utility, in the main window by
  62.    double-clicking on the file.
  63. 5. Change the icon, associated with an existing entry.
  64. 6. Store user preferences  and last position on the screen.
  65. 7. Multiuser support.
  66. 8. Compact database utility.
